Self storage prices vary by location, unit size and any extras like climate control or 24/7 access. Dublin city centre runs dearer than the M3 belt; rural Meath, Cavan and Monaghan are usually the best value.

What you pay for

  • Unit size: the single biggest factor
  • Location: city centres carry a premium
  • Length of commitment: most facilities (us included) discount 6+ months
  • Security and access hours
  • Insurance, if you add it

Typical sizes

Small (around 45 sq ft) fits a 1-bed. Medium (around 80 sq ft) fits a 2-bed. Large (around 160 sq ft) fits most 3-bed homes. Extra large (320+ sq ft) suits a 4-bed or an office contents.
